Brielle

My baby Brielle turned two yesterday. I cannot figure out where the time went!!! We haven't done a big celebration yet, her party will be on the 24th since that is my only Saturday that I have off. Josh was in Idaho Falls yesterday for work, so we will probably open gifts today. Unfortunately, she has the stomach flu, so she isn't much in the mood for celebration.
some things that Brielle really likes
  • dancing!!! she loves to dance and will dance to any music that she hears
  • Eating. she loves to eat and isn't as picky as her brother
  • Her big brother. She idolizes him and does everything (or tries) that Camden does!
  • taking her clothes off ( I mean everything including her diaper!)
  • Her Uncle Lance. She went downstairs the other day at my parents house just to be with him and ended up falling asleep.
  • Jumping
  • playing with princesses (which is also one of her favorite words)
  • playing with teasets
  • reading books
  • spending time with family
  • disney cartoons
  • playing with other kids
  • Cake need I say more?

Brielle, you are such a joy in our lives. You are definitely a fire cracker! (That's what Grandma calls you.) We love you so much and a happy that you are in our lives. (pictures to come later)

Camden

Yesterday I had to laugh at Camden. I was taking a picture of the kids in a clothes hamper when he looks over at me, sticks his tongue out and down and does his version of fist of rock (I Love you in sign language) pictures to come later.

He also shared his sucker with Brielle that he got from his bus driver. He held the sucker out for her and let her lick it.

Apraxia

Well, as many of may know, Camden is in preschool to work with a speech therapist on his communication since he doesn't speak very clearly. Yesterday he and I went to his parent/teacher conference and I found out that he has apraxia. Apraxia is a condition which means that he has "difficulty planning and producing the precise, highly refined, and specific series of movements of the tongue, lips, jaw and palate that are necessary for intelligible speech. A child with the diagnosis of apraxia of speech has difficulty programming and planning speech movements. " -Apraxia kids website. If you are interested in looking at more about this here's a pretty informative website. It is www.apraxia-kids.org/.

I found that website very informative. This condition is something that Camden will be able to overcome with a lot of work. He will be increasing his preschool days to 4 next year instead of two, which will be interesting for us to work out with our work schedules and making arrangements for him getting off the bus. Camden has a hard time sticking his tongue out all of the way, and moving it side to side. His speech therapist is working with him while holding a mirror while he talks to practice the movements. I have to say that I am glad that there is something real that is going on with him. I was afraid that it was because he didn't have very many other kids to associate with. His hearing is perfect, but we have wondered about that also. We also have to practice at home by making a "game" out of sticking his tongue out. Fortunately, there shouldn't be any long term effects with this. (Exept thinking that it's okay to stick your tongue out at people!) Oh well, one thing at a time right?

Camden turns four today

My sweet boy Camden is turning four-years-old today. As I sit here writing this is hard to know what to feel. I am so happy to see his everyday changes, he is such a big boy in so many ways, but I am also sad because he is no longer a baby. Fortunately, he will always be my baby no matter how big he gets.

Mom and Dad a very proud of you Camden and what a good boy you are. We are proud of how sweet you are to your sister, Brielle, always looking out for her and for mommy and daddy. We are proud of you for how well you are using your words and speaking so well. We love your sweet disposition, kindness, and the way you love to help others, especially daddy and mommy. We love how kind- hearted you are, and how well you mind (most of the time!) You are turning into such a big boy, in many ways more mature than most boys your age.

Camden, you came running into our room this morning (before our alarm went off) so excited because it was your birthday. You cuddled in bed with us for a few minutes. You got to open one present which was a back pack loaded with fishing supplies. You'll open the rest of your gifts at the family party tomorrow when we go bowling. We love you so much!!!!!

Interests: Wall-e, planes, toy story, books, praying, figuring things out, wrestling with daddy, riding bikes, blowing bubbles, being with friends and cousins, spending time with Grandparents, church, sign language, lego star wars, peanut butter sandwiches, movies, Cars, sledding, bowling.
